This is actually the second batch in the new incubator. They are on an auto turner, the goose eggs at the top of the page, the turkey eggs in the middle and the chicken eggs at the bottom. The turkey egg on the same row as the goose eggs is a bourbon red egg. The others are Blue Slate eggs. Teh metal piece is a hygrometer to measure the relative humidity.

These are the first hatch, 5 goose and 5 turkey eggs. The 2 on the right are Bourbon red eggs and the other 3 are Blue slate eggs. Again you can see the hygrometer. I replaced the water tray with a wet wash cloth to help keep the humidity near 85% for the last three days of hatching. The other material is egg carton that has been cut down to help keeo the eggs stationary.

This is a picture actually taken with my cell phone and you can see the hole in the side of the egg.
I have numbered all the eggs as I collected them just to help keep track of how many and which ones I got first, etc. We ate the first 3 geese eggs, and the next 7 didn't develop. It is egg number 11 that is pipped. I expect the others to start soon.
